Behind the Scenes: Training at APC

Here at American Pest Control, we take continuing education for all of our employees seriously. The pest control industry looks a lot different today than it did fifty, twenty, or even ten years ago so we know how important it is to stay up to date on industry technology.

All of our managers, technicians, and customer service representatives earn their structural pest control license with the Department of Agriculture within three months of joining the company. Each employee that our customers speak with through the scheduling and service process is knowledgeable about the services we provide. American Pest Control has also invested in every employee’s continued education by subscribing to Pest Control Technology Magazine, the industry’s leading source for news and technology.

We conduct weekly training meetings to stay up to date on seasonal pests, customer service, safety, and industry trends. Our quarterly company-wide training meetings, conducted by APC’s training and development specialist Heather King, provide employees with an in depth look at insect biology, application procedures, and more!

Of course it’s not all business at our quarterly meetings; we keep it fun and encourage team building with activities and games!

At our most recent meeting, we had the incredible opportunity to experience training from Extra Special People, a local non-profit organization that creates opportunities for individuals of all ages and abilities to thrive. ESP offered a new perspective and taught our employees the importance of taking 5 for all the extra special people in our lives. We feel so lucky to have this type of organization in our community and are grateful for the opportunity to partner with and learn from them!
